Des Kenyon with a large Spanish Mackerel. It was caught at Barnard island just down from Innisfail on the HBC50a with a 30lb line and a wire trace using the 6'6" reef rod made light work of bringing in a fish of this size. I was using a live yellow tail under a balloon down at around about 20 meters. You need a good berley trail to keep the fish interested if you want to have fun on these guys. Both Robert Lang and myself had a ball catching these out on a trip with Garry Nichols.
